Fit Assurance
Finding the right gas strut should not be a gamble. Fit Assurance is our promise about fitment, and how far it goes depends on how confident our system was when it matched your vehicle.
You will see one of two badges on the product page, and the same wording again at checkout.
100% match — fitment guaranteed
If our rego lookup or label scanner found an exact OEM match for your vehicle — pressure, length, end fittings, mounts, trim and year all confirmed — fitment is guaranteed.
If it does not fit, we replace it free.
Partial match — fitment not guaranteed
Sometimes we can confirm the length and the fittings but not the pressure. That happens when your vehicle matches on year or engine only, when a listing says “measure to confirm”, when OEM pressure was never published, or when several strut sizes were fitted to the same model. Pressure varies between trim levels and between the original suppliers, so we will not promise what we cannot check.
If it does not fit, Fit Assurance covers a partial refund, a discounted replacement, or store credit — you choose which.
Why partial rather than full? Every strut is pressurised to suit your order before it ships, and that cannot be undone. A strut built for your vehicle cannot go back on the shelf for someone else. On a partial match we share that cost with you rather than one of us carrying all of it.
What “does not fit” means
All of these are covered:
- It will not attach. The ball stud will not clip in, the socket will not seat, the end fitting is incompatible, or the strut simply cannot be installed.
- It attaches but will not stay open. The boot, bonnet or hatch falls back down. That is a pressure mismatch.
- It attaches but will not close properly. The boot will not latch, the bonnet will not shut, the hatch hits the body, or the strut binds or jams.
- It attaches but opens dangerously fast. The boot flies up or the bonnet slams open. Also a pressure mismatch.
- The geometry is wrong. The strut fouls the hinge or the bodywork, bends, or cannot compress fully.
What it does not mean
These are preference rather than fitment, and they are not Fit Assurance claims:
- “I do not like the pressure” or “it feels different from the original”
- “It opens faster or slower than my old ones”
- “I changed my mind”
- “I want a softer feel” or “I want a stronger feel”
If the strut holds properly but the feel is not right, tell us anyway. We stock a range of force ratings and we would rather help you find the one you want than leave you with the wrong one.
How to make a claim
- Email info@struxamotion.com with your order number.
- Send photos of the strut, and of it fitted to the vehicle.
- If you used the rego lookup or the scanner, tell us the plate or the part number. We record which match you were shown at the time, and that is what decides which tier applies — not what either of us remembers afterwards.
Your legal rights are separate
Fit Assurance is something we give you on top of your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. It does not replace or limit them. If something we supplied is faulty, unsafe, or not as described, the Act applies regardless of which Fit Assurance tier your listing was.
